Focused on the relationship between human health and the environment, environmental health helps us understand how the air, water, food, substances, and places we interact with can affect our health.
In this webinar, participants will learn how to use PubMed to find environmental health research. An overview of the topic and strategies for identifying useful resources will be provided, as well as a demonstration of an environmental health-related literature search.
Objectives:
• Define environmental health and identify possible environmental health exposures
• Summarize environmental health related resources and features within PubMed
• Use the PECO framework to develop a research question
• Select and apply relevant MeSH terms to create a search query
Please join NNLM's Region 1 and our two guest speakers, Kelly Miller and Stacey Mantooth, of The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS).
Stacey Mantooth is the Information Services Librarian at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina under contract with VISTA Technology Services, Inc. Stacey received an MSLS degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Kelly Miller is the Library Fellow at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Kelly has served as the Library Fellow since October 2021. NIEHS is part of the National Institutes of Health and shares a catalog and a wealth of electronic resources with the main NIH Library. The NIEHS Library is under contract with VISTA Technology Services to provide a full complement of library services and resource management. Before coming to NIEHS, Kelly worked as a library intern at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Research Triangle Park, NC, while pursuing her M.S.L.S. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
