Program/Event Summary: LSU Health Science Center - New Orleans (LSUHSC-NO) Library is launching its first-ever International Ope

LSU Health Science Center - New Orleans (LSUHSC-NO) Library is launching its first-ever International Open Access Week in October 2023. This outreach initiative aims to connect with the research and health science communities and educate people about Open Access research and publishing. It will be a week-long event and include how PubMed Central can be utilized to make scientific research information available to everyone. This event is designed for LSUHSC-NO researchers, faculty, and students, as well as others outside the university. The goal is to help people understand how Open Access is important for global healthcare progress. We'll do this through engaging educational presentations, hands-on workshops, and discussions. As part of our commitment to equity and inclusion, we will provide a mix of virtual and in-person learning opportunities. Our presentations will be available online for future use without restrictions. By raising awareness of Open Access publishing, we hope to help shape a world where important scientific research information is available to all, and global collaboration and progress can flourish.
