In alignment with the goals of the National Library of Medicine (NLM), the Powering Clinics & Communities with PubMed project seeks to build awareness at JPS Health Network off-site clinics around the resources and services offered by JPS Medical Library to further support patient care provided to Tarrant County’s most vulnerable, underrepresented populations. JPS clinics provide a wide range of care including pediatrics, HIV/AIDS, behavioral health, women’s health, oncology, neurology, dental, and pharmaceutical services, and are located throughout the county in Fort Worth, Arlington, Mansfield, Watauga, Azle, Euless, and Grapevine. The information seeking needs of the clinicians, nurses, and staff serving these clinics are as diverse as the patients they care for. Increasing library awareness among the staff who serve patients in off-site clinics will require more than a one size fits all approach. In addition to providing education sessions, a variety of materials will be distributed depending on needs and clinic specialties. All project materials will focus on searching and retrieving quality medical research using PubMed, the premier research tool made available from the NLM. Project materials will include the following: NNLM Resources Notebook, PICO Planner for Literature Searches, and Power up With PubMed.
