UT-READY: Utilizing Drone Technology for Readiness and Emergency Assistance in Disaster Response Operations at UTHSC
The proposed project aims to improve the use of technology for health information access and improve access to libraries and information services. Specifically, the project aims to enhance emergency preparedness and response at University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) by training selected UTHSC Police, Faculty, and Staff using drones. This project supported by the NNLM Emergency Preparedness and Response Award will use a community-centered model to promote awareness, education, and safety coordination for responding to emergencies. The training will include various modes such as webinars, classroom lectures, online classes, and Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) Remote Pilot Certificate training. The successful trainees will receive FAA Certification, and the project will equip UTHSC with the necessary tools and skills to respond to natural disasters and local emergencies effectively
