Subaward Project
(Valerie Cadet) JCLC 2023 Conference
Research shows a lack of representation of diverse skin tone images in medical textbooks, journals, and digital media, however, diversity in medical education is essential to adequately train and teach students to be inclusive in the care of all patient groups and skin tones. During this session, our goal is to foster awareness of this issue and explore ways to develop inclusive visualization resources while discussing ways to incorporate them into medical curricula. With an increase in these resources, medical students can acquire knowledge essential to the detection of important clinical signs and disease manifestations in non-white patients.
