Subaward Project

Focused Outreach: Radon Awareness

Our project “Detecting Radon in ME” Focused Outreach is intended to be the initial segment of the overall plan. It will secure funds necessary to provide resources to be used at public events to inform and educate the general public of the dangers of radon gas and the potential problem of unsafe levels in the home environment. As the pandemic eases its grip, Cary Medical Center will once again be able to participate in community health fairs, trade shows and other public events to share information on various health topics. Given the high levels of smoking in Aroostook County, high incidence of lung and bronchus cancer detection and deaths and the high incidence of radon in the soil and water, informative measures should be initiated.
