Individual Professional Development

NASIG is an independent organization that works to advance the management of information resources.  Their annual conference provides valuable insight into the changing landscape and methods of managing information and reaches a global library community.  I have been invited to present “Diversity Evaluation and Vendor Communication: The Effect on a Collection and Vendor Relationships” at NASIG’s 37th Annual Conference which will take place June 5th-8th, 2022 in Baltimore, Maryland. This presentation highlights the ways that Gibson D. Lewis Medical Library embraced the challenge to evaluate their medical education collections for diversity, created new collection standards that reflected a more global perspective and need, cultivated new methods of communication with vendors to clarify these standards, and the effect of these efforts on the library collection.
