Subaward Project

Collection Equity: Worcester Polytechnic Institute

The Gordon Library intends to purchase resources that address mental health issues and will foster more discussion and support within the WPI community. In the past six months, WPI has lost 7 students due to suicide, https://www.boston.com/news/local-news/2022/01/25/wpi-student-death-is- 7th-in-last-6-months/ and the university administration has responded by increasing the number of student counselors and support groups for students (https://www.wpi.edu/student- experience/resources/be-well-together) The Library will consult with the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Counseling Center to identify information resources that would support their efforts to enhance support to the students with mental health issues, such as stress, anxiety and depression.
