Subaward Project
Collection Equity: University of New Hampshire
In the past few years, the University of New Hampshire (UNH) launched several initiatives to address diversity, equity, and inclusion at the campus level and at the state level. The UNH Institute on Disability in collaboration with the departments of Social Work and Education recently launched the Trauma-Informed Policy and Practice (TIPP) certificate in response to a growing need for training and education around trauma-informed care for children with emotional and behavioral health challenges, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and other learning disabilities. The TIPP certificate uses a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach and promotes inclusion and equity for children and youths with disabilities. The Collection Equity Award will enable the program to supplement the TIPP curriculum with books, audiobooks, and films that reflect and amplify the experiences of youth with emotional and behavioral challenges, underscore how the intersection of race and emotional and behavioral health impacts access to and quality of care and illuminate barriers and best practices for serving this community.
