Subaward Project
Healthy Men, Healthy Families
The Clayton County Library System proposes a program that will help to improve health information literacy, and expand our library outreach to men providing information, educational sessions and interactive programs using NNLM products, such as MedlinePlus, MedlinePlus Men's Health and ClinicalTrials.gov. We'll also enhance our collection of men's health books & magazines and offer in-person and virtual seminars & workshops partnering with our county health organizations, churches, fraternities and sororities, and community leaders to facilitate improved men's health. The Clayton County Library System also proposes to use the grant funds to create test kits to set up mini wellness check stations in all of our branches and hire health professionals to answers questions and enlighten our male population. Engaging in these activities will help the library system to increase men's health awareness and educate our men in extreme self-care practices to help them learn how to use health information to extend their life, improve their health, and enhance the quality of their life.
