NNLM AoU Community Award: Health Tools for All Project (HTAP)


Taking Effective Action, Inc. (TEA) will carry out the Health Tools for All Project (HTAP)
with a goal to increase knowledge of health condition affecting minorities, credible
sources of health information from the National Library of Medicine (NLM), and medical
research including the All of Us Research Program. TEA will utilize its longstanding
presence in Prince George’s County Maryland and the greater Washington, DC
metropolitan area and established relationships with faith-based and other community
organizations to reach residents in this geographic area with emphasis on targeting
African Americans. TEA will achieve the following to primary objectives.
1. Conduct a one-to-two-hour virtual train-the-trainer session to train 7 community
health leaders from 7 organizations who will demonstrate increased knowledge
of NLM online health information resources and the All of Us Research Program
by February 28, 2021.
2. Host a virtual health symposium and engage at least 200 people who will selfreport
increased awareness of NLM online health information resources and the
All of Us Research Program by March 31, 2021.
