The Nipmuc People make up one of New England’s largest Native communities and are recognized by the state of Massachusetts [1]. The community consists of approximately 600 members that reside throughout the New England area and beyond. The Nipmuc People are represented by several bands, historically linked by kinship ties, trade routes, and other alliances [2].
