Grant Application - Outreach

Our library has witnessed an ever-increasing demand for health information. Unfortunately, our current website does not allow us to provide the information to our community as quickly as we should. This means our friends and neighbors do not get timely news about weather emergencies or find the mental health resources they need. The problem is two-fold: the outdated site does not support updates and does not meet the accessibility standards.  This means that users may not find the information they need either because the links do not work or because the site is unavailable to those with vision or hearing disabilities.  Between resources and programs, we link people in our community to information on everything from visual aids to tick-borne diseases. It is ironic that our website prevents us from making this information available to the people who might need it the most.
