After a major natural disaster in Western North Carolina (WNC), it was determined that having quick access to essential technology and resources would enhance MAHEC’s disaster response in rural communities; therefore, funding is being sought to create five S.H.I.E.L.D. (Supplies, Helpful Information, Emergency, Logistics, Disaster) kits that will include disaster response technology and resources.  The kits will be deployable and support providers as they treat patients in the immediate aftermath of a disaster.
