Presenter Description: Abigail L. Phillips, PhD is an assistant professor in the School of Information Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her general research interests include youth, social media, cyberbullying, empathy, librarianship, libraries, maker edu, neurodiversity, advocacy, and mental health. Abigail received her PhD in Information Science from the School of Information at Florida State University in the Spring of 2016. Before beginning the PhD program, she worked as public librarian at a rural library system in Southwest Georgia. Her work with young adults as a librarian is the root of her research interest in this population, as well as her advocacy for youth voices to be respected, heard, and included in any discussions that impact them.
