The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) Technical Resources, Assistance Center, and Information Exchange (TRACIE) provides stakeholders easy access to healthcare emergency preparedness information, promising practices, and relevant new knowledge. ASPR TRACIE is designed to identify and remedy knowledge gaps and provide unique and complex technical assistance to a variety of stakeholders working to meet healthcare system and public health preparedness objectives. During this webinar, speakers will provide an overview of the three domains of ASPR TRACIE (technical resources, assistance center, and information exchange) and will discuss recent resources and tools ASPR TRACIE developed in coordination with its subject matter expert (SME) Cadre in response to current hot topics in healthcare preparedness such as: community resilience, equity in disasters, highly pathogenic infectious diseases, climate change resilience, utility failures/outages, workplace violence, and behavioral health and workforce resilience.

Speakers:

  • Rachel Lehman is the Acting Director of the US Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) Technical Resources, Assistance Center, and Information Exchange (TRACIE) program. In her role, Rachel oversees the day-to-day operations of program, provides guidance on emerging issues and gaps/challenges, and acts as a liaison for the program. Previously Rachel was an analyst in ASPRs Office of Critical Infrastructure Protection, and prior to joining ASPR, she supported the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Research and Development working on chemical risk assessment.
  • Audrey Mazurek, MS is the ICF TRACIE Program Director. In this role, she provides day-to-day technical and strategic guidance for the program, assists with technical assistance requests, and oversees/conducts special projects and requests from the ASPR TRACIE Program Director. Audrey has worked at all levels of government for over 20 years in public health preparedness and homeland security. Prior to joining ASPR TRACIE at its inception, she served as a public health emergency preparedness planner for two local public health departments in Maryland, supported the US Department of Homeland Security in the development of an accreditation and certification program for private sector preparedness, developed national performance measures for food and agriculture defense, and developed an international research consortium for societal and community resilience.
  • Corina Solé Brito, MA, is the ICF TRACIE Deputy Project Manager. In this role, she oversees communications and the Technical Resources domain, ensuring that products and messages are tailored to and accessible by ASPR TRACIE’s stakeholders. Prior to joining ASPR TRACIE at its inception in 2015, Corina served as the Communications Manager for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Disaster Technical Assistance Center, and Senior Associate at the Police Executive Research Forum. She is a guest lecturer on contemporary issues affecting law enforcement at American University and received her M.A. in Criminology from the University of Maryland.
  • Bridget Kanawati, MPH, MS, is the ICF TRACIE Assistance Center Project Lead. She has worked for both the local government and the Federal government as a contractor in various areas, including developing emergency response plans for the Arlington County (VA) Public Health Division. Bridget received her master’s degree in Biodefense from George Mason University, and a master’s degree in public health from George Washington University. Jennifer Nieratko, MPH, is the ICF TRACIE Special Projects Lead, where her focuses on advancing healthcare system readiness for highly pathogenic infectious diseases and improving understanding of the role of various healthcare settings in healthcare surge preparedness and response. Before joining ICF, she spent nearly five years working on public health preparedness at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials. Prior to focusing on healthcare and public health readiness, Jennifer worked on a broad range of health and human services policy issues in the US Congress and for a national medical specialty society. She has an MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
